E. Bertucci, M.D.
Dr. Bertucci has practiced Ophthalmology on the gulf coast for over 22 years.
After his residency at The Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, La., he moved
to the coast and began practicing at the EENT hospital in Gulfport. Within
three years, Dr. Bertucci laid the ground work for what would become
the largest private ophthalmic practice in Mississippi. Dr. Bertucci
graduated from Tulane University, Tulane Medical School, and later completed
his residency from the Ochsner Foundation Hospital, where he was chief
resident in Ophthalmology his last year.
Dr.
Bertucci is an accomplished cataract surgeon. He studied under
Charles Kelman, M.D., the inventor of phacoemulsification,
John Sheets, M.D. who developed the Sheets Glide, and Peter
Morse, M.D. chairman of the Retinal Service at Northwestern
University. Dr. Bertucci’s years of experience make him
one of the leading eye surgeons on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Dr.
Bertucci performs LASIK (laser in-situ keratomileusis) conveniently
in his office on the state of the art Nidek EC-5000 excimer
laser. This unit incorporates the latest in wavefront technology
and auto-eyetracking. He has been performing LASIK surgery
on an out-patient basis in his office since 1998. He also performs
laser surgery for Diabetic Eye Disease and Glaucoma. Medicare
and major insurance and vision plans accepted.
